19 Nov 2020

Dear RDA, FORCE11 & ReSA communities,
I apologize for cross-posting.
The FAIRsFAIR project's first Milestone about software has been published
in October and is now under community review. It has been collaboratively
produced by work package 2 task 2.4 - FAIR services & software and had an
early experts review by the joint RDA/ReSA/FORCE11 FAIR4RS WG steering
committee.
Here is the link to the Assessment report on ‘FAIRness of software’
(Gruenpeter et al., 2020)
https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4095092
In the report we analyze nine resources that call for better recognition of
software in academia and how this ressources interpret the FAIR guiding
principles (Wilkinson et al. 2016)
We finalize the report with 10 high-level recommendations for future work
to define FAIR principles or other requirements for research software in
the scholarly domain and discuss next steps.
The community review period will be launched at the upcoming webinar about
FAIR and software.
