    George,
I agree that this would be a good proposed joint session and I would support it. Others?

    Hi All,
The recent incident involving data from OKCupid has generated a lot of discussion.
I would like to propose a session for RDA in Denver described in brief below.
It seems to me that this should interest the Ethics and Social Aspects of Data IG and the RDA/NISO Privacy Implications of Research Data Sets WG as well as the Domain Repositories IG.
Would your groups support and contribute to this session?

RDA P8 Session Proposal: "Responsible Sharing of Confidential Research Data"
Data repositories are increasingly faced with the problem of providing access to data with potentially sensitive confidential information. Data may be derived from administrative or commercial sources where obtaining informed consent is impossible. What are the responsibilities of data repositories in these situations? How do we balance the desire of the research community for detailed and informative data with public concerns about privacy?
