Dear colleagues, RDA-CODATA Legal Interoperability Interest Group;
The co-chairs and I had a number of e-mail exchanges which led to Gail kindly preparing and submitting the attached proposal for an IG Session at the 13th RDA Plenary in Philadelphia in April.
We held a call on Friday 7th Jan to discuss this further and to seek to plan the future of this Interest Group. It will be very important for us to consider very carefully what next steps are feasible and desired for the Interest Group. In particular, we need to understand from the membership what issues colleagues would like to pursue and who else is willing to take a leadership role in the activities of the Interest Group.
We propose that we hold a series of fortnightly calls in the run up to the Philadelphia Plenary to discuss the Interest Group and the session and – hopefully – identify some useful work that the IG can do. The co-chairs have some ideas that they will share, but we are keen to hear from the wider membership of the IG.
The first of these calls will take place at 15:00 UTC on Friday 25. My colleague Asha will circulate joining details and a calendar file.
We intend to follow that call with a fortnightly call at the same time until the plenary on 2-4 April.
