RDA Node Slovenia Conference: Scientific Journals and Research Data

Date:
28 Jan 2020

Development of open research data journal policies is outlined in the 2nd chapter of Action Plan for Implementation of National Strategy of Open Access to Scientific Publication and Research Data in Slovenia 2015–2020 (). Scientific journals contribute to quality, recognition and value of scientific work by encouraging access to research data, by evaluating data during the peer review process, and by promoting the citation of the data sources.

The conference will introduce the foundations and results of the scientific journals working group that is part of the RDA Node Slovenia. Representatives from editorial teams of four journals will present their experience and renewal of their journal policies. To conclude, Slovenian researchers and editors will meet in a round-table discussion about reasons, incentives, and obstacles for open research data.

Key aim of the conference is to support representatives of Slovenian scientific journals in updating journal policies on citation and access to research data, based on the available Template (). Researchers and all those interested in the topic are welcome to join the conference.

The conference will take place on 28 January 2020, at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. Visit the event page to register.
