    Dear colleagues,
We’ve had a number of folks join the Archives and Records Professionals for Research Data IG listerv over the past couple of weeks, so first of all, welcome to those of you who are new, and thanks to everyone who is spreading the word about our group. You can expect some occasional housekeeping emails like this one to come through this list from the IG co-chairs (myself, Rebecca Grant, Sarah Ramdeen, and Laura Molloy). We also encourage members to begin using this list to communicate about ideas, events, publications, etc. that have to do with exploring where the principles and practices in archives/records management and research data curation overlap and diverge.
As for the housekeeping: I’m happy to announce that our Interest Group Charter is now out for wider RDA comment, and available on the (newly updated) RDA website: https://rd-alliance.org/group/archives-and-records-professionals-researc…. I encourage you all to review the posted documented and post any feedback you have in the comments section. For anyone new to RDA, posting our Charter is a big step toward formalizing our status as an RDA Interest Group. The RDA community has at least four weeks to comment on the document, and after that the RDA Technical Advisory Board (TAB) and RDA Council review and decide whether or not to formally recognize & endorse the IG. I encourage you all to review the posted documented and post any feedback you have in the comments section in the next few weeks when it is out for community review.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on our draft Charter when it was under development. Your ideas and suggestions truly strengthened the document.
Looking forward to becoming a formal Interest Group and to building bridges between archives/records management and data curation.
    Best,
    Elise
