I attach the agenda for our meeting on Tuesday July 8th for those of us east of the International Date Line and Wednesday July 9th for those on the other side.
Please review the minutes of the previous meeting which are on the website. You will note that volunteers or suggestions for panelists for the Organisational Assembly in Amsterdam in September were requested. A similar request was issued at the May meeting. We need three or four panelists to speak on why RDA is important to their organisation - specifically:
- Why does my organisation care about data interoperability?
- What barriers do we currently encounter in data interoperability?
- What do we hope/expect to achieve through RDA?
- How will we implement protocals/standards/other products of RDA?
I have but one offer at present. Amy and Michael have volunteered to speak from the perspective of Research Libraries. We need at least two others. This will be a major item of discussion. We want to have a range of sectors, so if you are from a research library, thanks to Amy and Michael you are off the hook. But other sectors please either volunteers or suggestions. Speakers must be from organisations that have signalled their intention to join RDA.
I look forward to talking to you next week.
By the way, we recognize that our colleagues in Europe are unlikely to join us in this call given the time of the call. We look forward to reconnecting with you in Amsterdam. We will be glad to speak to our Asian and Australian colleagues in the call after missing you the last time because of the time of the call.
All the best,
Walter

My regrets for next week. At that time I will be on a ferry on the North
Sea.
