This call focuses on maintenance solutions based on RDA recommendations and outputs. Applicants can submit their proposal until 15 March 2022, 16.00 CET, via the EOSC Future Grants Platform.

The Research Data Alliance (RDA) has recently announced new open calls for proposals in the context of the EOSC Future project. One of these calls aims to set up working groups dedicated to finding solutions to boost engagement with EOSC among various disciplines and domains.

The Research Data Alliance (RDA) has recently announced new open calls for proposals in the context of the EOSC Future project. One of the latest calls focuses on creating a forum of domain experts to coordinate discipline-specific community engagement with EOSC.

How to EOSC: 5 tips for designing EOSC training programmes for institutions
During a workshop on 26 January, around 80 participants shared ideas on the development of EOSC training resources to engage researchers at various academic and research institutions. More training workshops will be organised going forward, involving different target groups, with a view to developing a training programme for EOSC (2022-2023).

Enhancing your data storage with the EOSC portal
On 1 February, EOSC Future hosted the first ‘ask me anything’ webinar on data storage. Researchers involved in EU-funded projects answered questions about the various data storage solutions available on EOSC. The session also clarified the added value of the data storage services available on EOSC for different research communities.

Marine thematic EOSC Blue-Cloud sees major growth with new ‘Virtual Labs’
Five thematic virtual labs have been set up and made available within the EOSC framework. Blue-Cloud is Europe’s pilot Open Science platform to study oceans and seas, where research teams can capture and process large marine datasets.

Logo Design Contest for the European Open Science Cloud
Deadline | 25 February 2022, 23.59 CET
Launched this month, the EOSC Logo Competition invites design students and recent graduates to submit their creative proposals. Applicants have a chance to win a €5 000 prize and present their logo at the 2022 EOSC Symposium, which will be held in Prague on 14-17 November. Applications are open until 25 February, 23.59 CET. Terms and conditions apply.

2nd EOSC ask me anything webinar: Software
1 March 2022, 14.00 - 15.00 CET
This online session, scheduled for 1 March at 14.00 CET, will reveal how software services are classified, ordered and used via the EOSC platform. Providers will learn how to onboard their own resources to the software repository. Participants will also have a chance to ask EOSC community members and administrators all of their software-related questions.

3rd EOSC ask me anything webinar: Compute services
5 April 2022, 14.00 - 15.00 CET
The EOSC Future project will dedicate its 3rd ‘ask me anything’ webinar to discussing compute services available on the EOSC platform: clouds, HTC/HPC services, orchestrators, workload managers, notebooks and more. For each service, participants will be guided through the ordering, implementation and integration processes. Providers will also learn how to onboard their compute services via the EOSC platform or through the EOSC compute platform offered by the EGI-ACE project.

Save the date – EOSC Provider Days
The first edition of the EOSC Provider Days will take place between 26-28 April. This online event will give new service and data providers all the information they need to contribute to, or benefit from, EOSC. Seasoned providers will get an overview of upcoming EOSC Future implementation actions targeting providers as well as a chance to exchange insights with their peers.
