Following the success of the Interest Group's efforts in 2022, with our task groups producing a range of formal RDA outputs with two more in the pipeline, the Task Group leads and co-chairs have been reflecting on the shape of the IG so we can prepare for 2023.
To date we've had 5 active task groups that have been the core of our work and have been building up various external connections too. Now, though, it's time to build on the work achieved so far and to set ourselves up for the next phase of the Interest Group.
In order to support this we've decided to change the meeting structure across the IG to help bring the community closer to discuss and refocus our efforts.
Starting on 20th January there will be a monthly IG wide Zoom call giving everyone in the community a chance to engage with and help shape the IG's efforts. These monthly meetings will have a main theme but also have a chance for open discussions too with the co-chairs and task group leads to ensure that the IG remains relevant to our community, helping to further the professionalisation of data stewardship in all its many forms.
The meetings will be open to all - whether you're an established or new member of the IG or returning after a break away. Please contact one of the co-chairs for the Zoom invite if you wish to join us.
January's meeting will have the theme 'Reflections and Connections'. We'll hear from the active task groups on their outputs, challenges and connections they are exploring, before the co-chairs will reflect on options for our next steps.
