EDDI14 – 6th Annual European DDI User Conference: Draft program available, and registration open

    EDDI14, the 6th Annual European DDI User Conference will take place on December 2-3, 2014 in London.
    The conference is hosted by IOE – Institute of Education, University of London.
    The conference will bring together DDI users and professionals from all over Europe and the world. Anyone interested in developing, applying, or using DDI is invited to attend.
    The program offers 30 presentations, 2 reports, 3 tutorials, and 3 side meetings.
    The keynote speech will be delivered by Peter Knight (deputy director, head of research information and intelligence, in the Department of Health’s Research and Development Directorate, United Kingdom government)
    The conference will open on Tuesday, Dec 2nd at 9:00 pm and close on Wednesday, Dec 3rd at 5:00 pm.
    Tutorials will take place on Monday, Dec 1st at 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
    Two side meetings will take place on Wednesday, Dec 4th (the DDI Developers Meeting and the International Colectica User Conference).

    Please note following important details:
    – The deadline of the early bird fee is open up to Nov 2, 2014.
    – The reduced rates of the hotels are available on a first come, first served basis.
    EDDI14 is organized jointly by the IOE – Institute of Education, University of London, GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, and IDSC of IZA – International Data Service Center of the Institute for the Study of Labor.
    The Data Documentation Initiative (DDI) is an effort to create an international standard for describing data from the social, behavioral, and economic sciences. The DDI metadata specification supports the entire research data life cycle. DDI metadata accompanies and enables data conceptualization, collection, processing, distribution, discovery, analysis, repurposing, and archiving. See: http://www.ddialliance.org/
