Dear all,
‘*Learning resources minimal metadata application profile*’: online,
Wednesday 17 May 2023 at 15:00-16:00 UTC. Registration is now open!
Are you interested in making training materials or other learning
resources that you have created or found more easily discovered in
common search environments ? Have you ever wondered what key descriptors
for these materials could help you and others better find them? Now
that a minimal metadata set has been recommended, what mechanisms could
be used to implement the set within different search environments, such
as a catalog or portal at your institution?
The ‘Education and Training on Handling of Research Data’ RDA Interest
Group has worked with a group of international experts to develop a
minimal metadata set for describing learning materials. This set
identifies key characteristics of learning resources that matter to:
- Content creators and adapters who want to describe the resources they
create for others to better find and use;
- Providers of catalogues and registries of learning resources;
- Institutions that publish learning resources on their websites to
provide information about the resources in their collections.
In this one-hour interactive webinar, the group will present application
profiles of the minimal metadata set and how they have been implemented
in selected catalogues. Participants will have the opportunity to
discuss the various perspectives, needs, and motivations for
implementing the application profile. Participation is free but please
register in advance to attend.
