Dear FWI-WG Members,
Several key members of this WG are pleased to intite you to the launch of the Protected Areas Impact Maps VRE (PAIM), a portal that integrates environmental and biophysical data with an analytical webviewer. Since it re-uses and shares many features with the FDI-WG vision, you will see a lot of advantages demonstrated related to geospatial data harmonization and analysis.
The BlueBRIDGE H2020 project develops Virtual Research Environments (VREs) in support of the management of marine living resources. It will launch the Protected Areas Impact Maps (PAIM) VRE (which will be for registered users only) in a webinar 9 November 2017, 4pm CET, where you can learn about the features that we developed to analyze geospatial data.

This is one of (currently) more than 30 VREs that all are built on the same infrastructure, reducing the effort to develop and maintain them. All VREs re-use services, and often look very similar, but every VRE uses its own data, has other users, and has flexible analytical approaches. They share what can be shared, and keep apart what should be separated. For instance, we could consider to use some of the layers in the MPA VRE to e.g. cross-check what fisheries are reported from MPAs if we had interoeprable Fisheries Data (the stated goal of this WG).
We hope you can sign up and / or spread the word on the seminar, and join the presentation.
Cheers,
Anton.
