Dear members of the RDA FAIR data maturity model working group,
We are delighted to share with you the presentation [1] for our fifth
workshop that will take place during the 14th RDA plenary in Helsinki. If
you are unable to join us physically, please note that the session will be
accessible remotely. The session will be hosted on GoToMeeting, which you
can join from your computer or any device that has access to the internet
[2].
As a reminder:
*The session will be held in the Dipoli Building - Kaleva room during the
Breakout 2 on 23 October 2019 from 14:30 to 16:00 Helsinki time (11:30 to
13:00 UTC).*
As mentioned in our last communication, we closed the survey for the
prioritisation of the indicators yesterday. We thank you all for your
cooperation. The results will be presented during the session.
We would like the session in Helsinki to be interactive and for this we are
proposing a number of potential discussion items. On slide 20 in the
presentation, we put forward four discussion items, one or two of which
will be tackled during the session. May we kindly ask you to go through the
presentation and vote for your preferred discussion item?
1. Identifier to point to digital object directly, or indirectly through
a landing page
2. Machine-processable data versus human access to the digital object
3. Linking and referencing
4. Two-speed fairness
More information about these discussion items can be found in the
presentation itself. We have put together a quick poll which you can access
online [3]. *Please use this tool to vote for the discussion item that you
would like to discuss at Workshop #5. Besides, if you have any question or
remark, feel free to use the same tool to post a question [4]. *
We are looking forward to a successful Workshop #5 and encourage your
active participation to help the community as a whole in improving the way
that FAIRness can be evaluated.
