2nd EDISON Data Science Champions Conference:
Location: Madrid, Spain
Venue: Puerta de Toledo Campus of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
Date: 15-16 March 2017
Time: Day 1 (09:00 – 17:30), Day 2 (09:00 – 16:00)
The Horizon 2020-funded EDISON project would like to extend a warm
invitation to you to join us on the 15-16 March 2017 to participate in
the 2nd EDISON Champions Conference in Madrid. By Champions we refer to
pioneering individuals and innovative teams at universities, colleges
and other teaching or training establishments engaged in developing and
delivering courses that meet the needs of Data Science professionals.
Following on from the success of the first event in the UK last summer,
we want to bring you together with other leading pioneers of data
science teaching and training in Europe ready to share, discuss and
enrich best practices and success stories in creating and delivering
data science and related courses.
We anticipate a range of inspirational contributions with real practical
value on how participants have created fit-for-purpose education
solutions that address the urgent need across Europe for people in all
disciplines to possess and, be competent in, data-related skills. We
obviously see the EDISON Data Science Framework (EDSF) as being a key
component in ensuring that courses are aligned to the needs of employers
so we will structure the agenda for the contributions around the EDSF.
We will build on these valuable pioneers’ stories by explaining how EDSF
can be further used to accelerate, improve and scale up the various
educational offerings of the contributors.
We would appreciate a swift response as to whether you are able to join
us on the 15-16th March in Madrid – even for just one day – at the
impressive new Puerta de Toledo Campus of the Universidad Carlos III de
Madrid as we are keen to finalise a compelling programme early next
year. The event is free, places are limited, and a small number of
travel bursaries are available on request. Hotel suggestions will be
provided soon.
