Dear RDA Data Discovery IG members,
Based on the survey results on data discovery topics that Anita shared about
a month ago, there was some definite interest on the topic "Guidelines for
making data findable". Overall there are 10 people that expressed interest
in contributing to the development of this particular topic, with Antica
Culina, Jens Klump, Mingfang Wu, Anita de Waard and myself volunteering to
lead this effort.
This is the first call for a meeting to discuss scope for the topic and what
we can achieve from now to the next RDA plenary (5-7 April 2017). The timing
of this meeting is as follows, with the connection details kindly provided
by Ming.

Dear RDA Data Discovery IG members,
Please find attached the minutes of our first call for the RDA Data
Discovery Topic E: Use cases, prototyping tools and test collections (you
can find the same information on the corresponding Google Doc as well:
oUHE/edit>
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12bd0cRGUJh_djH8LgzrN15H5uifpTLHqAzc8...

There was an interesting discussion during the call, through which we
identified a few actions necessary to move this effort forward. Of
particular importance until our next teleconference is Action #1 i.e. the
collection of use-cases/user stories from within our organizations. We have
created a dedicated Google Doc for capturing this information, so feel free
to c&p your use-cases here:

Finally, our next teleconference will take place on Tuesday, January 24th
2017 (see local times and connection details below).
Best wishes for a Happy and relaxed Holiday period!
