ANDS and P10

Hi everyone,
As promised, I send an email to our liaison person, Rowan Brownlee,
asking whether anyone from ANDS would be coming to the P10 meeting and
whether they would be interested in giving a short talk.
Basically, we should know in a few weeks, as the most likely candidate
(Adrian Burton) is currently off on holiday.
Rowan also mentioned that ANDS host quarterly video meetings for people
working with vocabularies. Looks like there’s some interesting activity
there.
Cheers,
Paul.

Adrian Burton (Director, ANDS Services) is on leave until July 7. I
know that he attended the last plenary, so I’ll pass this onto him on
his return. In the meantime I’ll see if I can find out from one of the
other managers whether he’s expressed an intention to attend Montreal.
Otherwise, get in touch if anything comes up concerning ANDS vocabulary
services.
I’ll also mention AVSIG
(Australian Vocabulary Special Interest Group). We have quarterly video
meetings
at
which we have presentations that are recorded and made available online
.
Anyone with an interest in vocabularies is welcome to join.

Hi Rowan,
I’m writing because Jane Frazier, who was our ANDS vocab service
liaison before she left ANDS last year, recommended you as a contact
for ANDS vocabulary questions.
I’m part of an RDA working group that is establishing a common
vocabulary for describing different storage systems. We’re still at
the early days, with quite a small vocabulary, but the access to
ANDS’ vocabulary services, including PoolParty, has been very helpful.
I was wondering if anyone from ANDS would be coming to the RDA
Plenary 10 (“P10”) meeting in Montreal, from 9-21 September 2017?
Our working group has applied for a session during the RDA P10
meeting. Assuming the application is successful, we would like to
invite someone from ANDS to talk about ANDS’ vocabulary services
(including PoolParty) during that session.
Would anyone be available?
Cheers,
Paul.
