Dear Stefanie and Hilary,
Given the article comes out during the RDA Plenary, is there a RDA branded image on FAIRsharing WG we could use that day to tweet and disseminate?
Support from the official RDA twitter account would also be very much appreciated.
Kind regards and see you soon
Susanna

Dear Hilary and Stefanie,
sure, you can contact Varsha again and/or we can provide you with other names.
However, we have something else that may work as comprehensive stories of use and adoption:
1. the article that comes our next Tues (April 2nd, 4pm UK time) in Nature Biotech as an OA CC-BY piece; and also
2. our new Community page: https://fairsharing.org/communities that also include two key reports recommending FAIRsharing.
The article is authored by 69 authors, which are representatives of a diverse set of stakeholders-representing academia, industry, funding agencies, standards organizations, infrastructure providers and scholarly publishers—both national and domain-specific as well global and general organizations. An abstract is below, and I have enclosed the final list of authors.
I think that the above-mentioned information would give Council a global view on the adoption and use of FAIRsharing, more than any single story would.
We look forward to hearing form you.
Kind regards,
Susanna
FAIRsharing, a community approach to standards, repositories and policies
We have come together as a community, representing the core adopters, advisory board members, and/or key collaborators of the FAIRsharing resource. Here, we introduce its mission and community network. We provide an evaluation of the standards landscape, focusing on those for reporting data and metadata and their implementation by databases and repositories. We report on the ongoing challenge to recommend resources and the importance of making standards invisible to the end users. Finally, we highlight the role each stakeholder group must play to maximize the visibility and adoption of standards, databases and repositories.

Dear Susanna, all,
Thank you very much for the final version. I have published it here: https://www.rd-alliance.org/group/fairsharing-registry-connecting-data-p…. Please let me know if you would like anything changed.
As part of the review and endorsement process, we usually compile an adoption report by asking two adopters nominated by the group co-chairs a set of questions about their adoption experience.
I did this for the previous version of the Recommendation in late 2017, and received responses from Dimitris Koureas in December 2017 and Varsha Kodiyar in February 2018. Should we ask Dimitris and Varsha for an update on their responses from a year ago? Or would you like to nominate any other adopters for us to contact at this point?
Also, if you would like the group to focus on managing the maintenance activities and supporting the adopters of your Recommendation, you could indeed continue as a maintenance group (there is no review involved, you just state that this is what you would like to do).
As for formatting the final version after endorsement by Council, we usually attach a cover page with the RDA logo, and some metadata including the DOI and citation information to the document, and then publish the document in the RDA collection in Zenodo. Of course we will send this version to you for your review before publication in Zenodo.
Thank you very much.
Best wishes,
Stefanie

Dear Secretariat,
please, find enclosed the document describing the final recommendations by the FAIRsharing WG.
Please, let us know what the next steps are and if, following the final review (and hopefully approval by Council), there is a template to better (re)format this document and its references, before it is released to the community.
As discussed previously, we intend to maintain the discussion live and continue the adoption process, as well as connect to relevant RDA WGs and IGs, such as the Policy Standardization group. We could do this by remaining a WG (in adoption mode?) or becoming an IG; suggestions and guidance are welcome.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Susanna, on behalf of the co-chairs
