Thanks Hilary. I updated the Australian Bushfire page on the site to include this info. I renamed the page to “15th Plenary – Travel Updates” and it now includes both bushfire and virus content. Hopefully, we’ll have some keynote and programme updates this week, and we can make note of the info within that messaging.
Also, are we ok to send out the survey to our members this week? I haven’t received any responses on my email from yesterday. See survey at

Dear Comms Team,
Great, relevant news about Australian-made coronavirus copy reaches high-security CSIRO laboratory in Geelong
Could we please leverage on this news
Another important thing for our community to know is Australian lab first outside of China to copy coronavirus, helping vaccine push
One of the keynote speakers secured by the P15 organising committee is from Melbourne’s Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, which is where the virus was copied first.
Finally, it would be very important to inform and post on the P15 page, the AU government updates on travelling to and from Australia
In this statement, made on 1 Feb, please note the following:
The Australian Government has announced that as of 1 February 2020, all travellers arriving from any part of mainland China, regardless of nationality, will be subject to enhanced border control measures to ensure the health, safety and well-being of the Australian community.
Australia will deny entry to anyone who has left or transited mainland China from 1 February, with the exception of:
* Australian citizens
* permanent residents
* immediate family members of Australian citizens and permanent residents including spouses, minor dependents and legal guardians
Many thanks
