Welcome to Day 3 of VP22 as we bring Week 1 to a close. We hope you have been enjoying the event so far, but if you missed out, don’t worry, there is plenty more content to come today and next week!

Breakout Sessions 7
Five more RDA Groups are taking centre stage this morning to present, discuss, and gain feedback on their work. Look out for:
- conversations on mappings and crosswalks and the building of a dedicated, cross-cutting RDA Working Group on FAIR Mapping (supported by RDA TIGER)
- the presentation of a potential Working Group aimed at clarifying the process of data deletion
- a highly interactive session designed to help participants better understand FAIR Digital Objects
- discussions on how to bridge the gap between policy makers and data scientists during crisis situations, and
- a repeat session (in case you missed it) on cross-community efforts to build services for Data Stewards.
Spotted our RDA TIGER Facilitators at VP22? Several RDA Working Groups are supported by RDA TIGER, a project that offers Facilitation, Communications Output Support and Landscape and Engagement Services to RDA WGs.

Breakout Sessions 8
Time for the penultimate breakout sessions of the week. This afternoon we look at:
- Building bridges between platforms and practices using PIDs and metadata
- community standards in the wind energy sector with RDA’s newly formed
- wind Energy Community Standards WG (under review)
- using research data policy to increase the availability of research data for reuse, and
- coordinating and harmonising international efforts in building data research infrastructures and semantic frameworks for Earth, Space and Environmental Sciences.
Plenary Session: ‘RDA engagement in the Americas (Canada and US)’
Today’s Plenary Session focuses on The Americas – RDA US and RDA Canada. After some regional updates, area experts on topics of mutual interest to both regions. The session will close with open discussion between multiple regions with the goal of identifying synergies that could lead to potential collaborative opportunities.

Last but not least! To round off Week 1 of VP22 we enjoyed sessions on:
- FAIR water data activities, an update from the Global Water Information Interest Group
- A repeat session on recommendations for ‘non-traditional’ or ‘non-text’ process and products (NTROs)
- Science Communication for research data, and
- A second chance to learn about a potential RDA Ambassadors programme.
VP22 will return next week on Tuesday, 21 May, with another three breakout sessions, a plenary session titled ‘Collaborating Internationally for Regional Benefit’ and a Europe Office Hours Session.
However, you don’t have to wait until Tuesday. On Monday, 20 May, there will be two co-located events taking place, which we highly encourage you to attend:
