The Data Description Registry Interoperability WG was formed in 2014 to address the problem of cross platform discovery of research data. The initial idea was to find a connectivity model for datasets across multiple data infrastructures. The working group had input from the Australian National Data Service (ANDS), CERN, DataCite, Data Curation Unit, da|ra, figshare, OpenAIRE, and a number of research institutions. The group participants created a model for connecting datasets on the basis of co-authorship or other collaboration models such as joint funding and grants. The implementation of this model is an open source project called Research Data Switchboard (www.rd-switchboard.org).
In this webinar Dr. Amir Aryani from ANDS presents an overview of the outcome of this project, the graph modelling technology behind this project, and the adoption of this technology by the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) in Australia.
