Hi Nick --
I'd love to join the call, but unfortunately won't be able to tomorrow. So,
an email instead...
As you are looking for Provenance use cases, you might find our DataONE
provenance use cases useful, which were compiled with some carbon modeling
scientists and ecological scientists to drive our provenance development in
DataONE. You can see them on GitHub here:
https://github.com/DataONEorg/sem-prov-design/blob/master/
docs/use-cases/provenance/use-cases-summary.rst
We have implemented all of these using tools in R and Matlab (except #45A)
using ProvONE, a specialization of PROV that provides a cross-repository
vocabulary for describing both retrospective provenance (e.g., execution
traces) and prospective provenance (e.g., workflow structure). The current
version of ProvONE is at https://purl.dataone.org/provone-v1-dev
We embed ProvONE documents in RDF ORE resource maps when submitting them to
our repositories for storage and indexing, and then use the info to drive
web displays and search systems.
Maybe people on the call will be interested in the DataONE work, which we
recently presented at IDCC17 [1].
