FW: RDA Europe Synchronisation Assembly, 9th November 2016, Brussels.

25 Oct 2016

Dear RDAers,
As you know the current RDA Europe project has a Synchronisation Assembly with the aim of sharing views to maintain the RDA initiative in Europe.
The next SyA meeting is due early next year, but in order to take advantage of the fact that Mark Parsons will be in Europe in November, and to gather views about the next RDA Europe project the proposal for which is due in March, we have brought the meeting forward and will hold it on 9th November in Brussels from 09:00-16:00 (precise location to follow).
As someone who has been very active in RDA, we would like to invite you to participate in this meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss what support is needed for RDA (global) activities and what services the RDA Europe project can provide to give this support.
A draft agenda is attached. We have reserved the majority of time for contributions from meeting participants and we hope you will be able to come to the meeting and share your views about what support RDA needs. Please let us know whether you are able to come and whether you would like to make a short presentation of your views by filling in the registration at https://www.rd-alliance.org/synchronisation-assembly-meeting-registratio...
If you are not able to come to the meeting and would like to send you contribution in writing we will make sure that it is discussed in the meeting.
Best regards and looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.
Juan and Leif

    Juan -
Sorry, I cannot attend. I have been trying to shuffle things but to no avail. It would really help to have 6 months' notice of such meetings.
    Best wishes
    Keith

    Juan, Leif & colleagues
It seems that the evening flight between Edinburgh & Brussels I had planned
to take is no more, so although I still plan to join you I won't be there
for the 9am start on Wednesday. With luck I'll be with you by 10am.

    Hi Juan and Leif
Unfortunately it just wasn't enough notice to make it to Brussels.
I shall try and send some thoughts beforehand but in reality it might need to be something added afterwards to any notes circulated.
I hope it's a useful meeting and you generate lots of good ideas.
    with thanks Rachel
