As discussed during the last plenary meeting in Dublin, we are inviting groups to organize focused meetings where individual use cases are elaborated, and where the viability and limitations of the envisaged solutions are evaluated.
NERC and the British library will be hosting such a workshop on the premises of the British Library on July 1-2. The workshop will bring together key stakeholders from two use cases to evaluate these from a range of perspectives including the user/researcher perspective, the technical/infrastruture framework etc. to see how the respective data can be made citeable. The two use cases put forward are:
- Citation methods for subsetting and version control within time series using UK Environmental Change Network as example
- Citing changing metrics within and ongoing monitoring programme using UK Butterfly Monitoring Scheme as example
Both use cases are described in the RDA WG use cases page (https://rd-alliance.org/groups/data-citation-wg/wiki/collaboration-environments.html) and have common elements with other use cases.
If there are other groups who want to join this meeting, BL has offered to provide some space so that one or two other pilots could be discussed at that meeting. If you want to propose another pilot to be discussed at that meeting, please let us know, including how many people you plan to attend from your side to elaborate the use case, so that BL can plan the meeting venue accordingly.
