Re: [pid-kernel-info-wg] [pid-kernel-info-wg] Connection of PID KI WG Meeting Call...

04 Mar 2018

Thanks Tobias and all. Sorry I missed the call, I got back from travel late the night before and needed to sleep in.
I think the agenda looks pretty good. I’ll try and do an assessment of how the proposed profile maps against DCO, but I don’t promise anything. If I can, I will report.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to take a much more critical view at the principles. I think they are really good but still need a fair amount of polishing if they are to have maximum impact. To that end, I made some fairly significant mods to the intro. Please check it out, I may have not fully represented the WG view.
I suspect, I may do more editing in the coming days, but I think the principles are really good, and I look forward to seeing y’all soon.
cheers,
-m.

Next call on March 1, 13:00 UTC, starting with P11 agenda discussion.
Everyone, please keep contributing to the 'guiding principles' doc,
which is becoming our recommendation base doc. We'll also need to go
through the original strawman profile again, resolve outstanding
comments based on the principles, and then transfer this into the
recommendation doc together with all other content.
Best, Tobias

    Mark, all,
thank you for your editing. I also just took another sweep through the
document, made some further changes, resolved some comments, added new
ones... Latest concern is that I'm having trouble with principle 6 and I
agree that this may not be the only one that is still too ambiguous.
But we should definitely try to spend good effort in shepherding the
document to a good state as we have our official delivery set at the
Berlin plenary. So even if we cannot weed out all ambiguities, we should
at least identify them for future work.
    Best, Tobias

    Dear Mark, Tobias, all,
thanks Mark for your changes. Overall they improve the principles again
quite a bit, from my point of view. I added some comments proposing some
minor changes, but overall I agree that the principles are really good
now. Hope to welcome you all in Berlin in two weeks.
