All,
I am appending here the proposal for our IG kick-off session in Montréal.
Let us know if you have any suggestions. We will submit the proposal
tomorrow evening (CEST). Thanks.
Cheers, m.
Meeting title: Interest Group Kick-Off Meeting
Short introduction: Following the Denver (P8) and Barcelona (P9) BoF
meetings, this meeting is to kick-off the newly formed Interest Group.
Broadly speaking, this IG aims to advance shared understanding of the
relationship between data and information, primarily in the context of
environmental research infrastructures for observational data and
information about observed environments. Key issues are the distinction
between data and information, in particular observations and derived
information about environmental phenomena not observed directly, as well as
the processes that evolve observational data into information. Our aim is
to provide a platform for discussing and advancing this subject matter.

Meeting objectives: The meeting will kick-off the newly formed Interest
Group.
Meeting agenda: The meeting will provide an update of activities since P9
and discuss the next steps for the IG. A proposal is to collect comparable
use cases that describe the evolution of observational data into derived
semantic information in different contexts. We will present other proposals
collected ahead of the meeting. We will also present and discuss a first
draft for a Case Statement for the IG. A more detailed agenda will be
provided later.

Hi Markus,
This is almost ok. I think it would be helpful to include the name of the IG in the meeting title and also at the end of the first sentence. Otherwise, newcomers will not know it.
Kind regards

Hi Markus,
I had a little trouble understanding the following phrase in the agenda part: 'We will present other proposals collected ahead of the meeting'. Do you mean other use cases or just other agenda items in general? Maybe rephrase to avoid misunderstanding?
By the way, Alex, I think D3.1 of our GLOBIS-B project could already well feed into this agenda item as use case. What do you think?
Regards
Jacco
