Benchmarking Research Data Support in Academia
Collaborative session notes:
Short introduction describing the scope of the group and if any previous activities
Especially universities have activated in planning and implementing their research data support services. Since the long tail is missing, there are no established and widely accepted best practices. Therefore it would be useful to have the platform for sharing experiences and ideas on different models of research data support services.
The session focuses on current and future models of organizing and benchmarking research data support services within academic environment, esp. within universities.
In the session different models of organizing research data support are represented and discussed.

- to present different models of organizing research data support and discuss their strengths and weaknesses
- to discuss the aspects of benchmarking the research data support services
- to gather ideas how to promote research data support services for the customers (researchers)

Audience
Specialists involved with research data support services within academia. This includes both research data specialists (librarians, IT-specialists, data stewards) and research administrators as well as funding specialists.
Participants are expected to be familiar with the organizational model of the research data support services within their institution.
