Dr. Steve MacFeely is the Head of Statistics and Information at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Steve is also Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Policy Studies at University College Cork in Ireland and a deputy-director of the IASE International Statistical Literacy Program. He is currently a member of the University of London Gender Indicator Advisory Committee. Before joining UNCTAD, he was the Assistant Director General at the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in Ireland and Programme Director of the joint CSO - Institute of Public Administration in Ireland ‘Professional Diploma in Official Statistics & Policy Evaluation’. He has also served as board member on the Oversight Board of the Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service, the UNWTO Technical Advisory Board and the InRouTe Scientific Committee. Steve has wide research interests including regional issues, SDG indicators, South-South Cooperation, input-output analysis, satellite accounting, data infrastructure, family business and tourism.
